T2B Attends Franchise Conference, KoalaCon

During 2022 our Top 2 Bottom client base has grown dramatically, especially within the franchise industry. Over the past several months we’ve posted stories about our new partnership with The Entrepreneur’s Source, our new franchisee training initiative to help onboard new franchisees for our franchisor clients and even our collaborations with delivering accounting webinars and roundtable sessions with emerging franchises like the Shuckin’ Shack Oyster Bar. But last month we were invited to a new franchise conference we had not attended before for the hundreds of franchisees who are part of the Koala Insulation franchise opportunity.

The annual event, called KoalaCon and held in Melbourne Florida, allowed our Top 2 Bottom Business Development team an opportunity to meet many of the Koala franchisees that were already T2B clients. After returning from the conference, Business Development Manager, Kyle Keis, had the following to share;

Christopher and I were lucky enough to get to set up a table and meet with new and existing franchisees of Koala Insulation. T2B helps many of them already with their accounting, bookkeeping and payroll demands, and we were finally putting a face to a name. We were also able to meet many Koala franchisees we were not working with yet and network with them.

Beyond meeting existing Koala franchisees at the conference, Top 2 Bottom Co-Founder & CEO, Christopher Mallery was able to connect with the CEO of Koala Insulation, Scott Marr. Chris discovered one of the more intriguing aspects of this franchise is that they require new franchisees to utilize a Preferred Service Provider to outsource accounting duties for a period of 12 months. New Koala Insulation franchisees are not allowed to do their own books for their first year in business. When we inquired with Mr. Marr for details about this required outsourcing policy he explained further by email:

As a franchisor, it’s so important to know that your franchise partners have good vendor resources and this is a core focus at Koala Insulation.  We mandate the use of an outsourced bookkeeping vendor in the first year because as a new franchise owner, and often times being a first time business owner, franchise partners can overlook this critical but important piece of their business.  Starting a new business is tough enough, having an outside service like Top 2 Bottom allows our franchise partners to focus on what’s most important; driving revenue and generating profits.

Scott Marr – CEO of Koala Insulation

As a result of this conference and these important takeaways, Top 2 Bottom is developing a very comprehensive roadmap for 2023 that will entrench them further within the franchise industry. If you are a franchisor or a franchisee within North America, our T2B team members are anxious to speak with you about becoming a Preferred Service Provider within your 2023 FDD. We want Top 2 Bottom to be the accounting partner your brand can rely upon to help train new franchisees, to provide support and educational services to existing franchisees and to consistently deliver the impeccable accounting services that more than 700 business owners now depend upon Top 2 Bottom Business Solutions to deliver each day.
